Instructions

1
In a large punch bowl, add half of the lime sherbet.
2
Pour half the Sprite/7-Up/Ginger Ale over the top, then add half of the pineapple juice and half of the Hawaiian Punch.
3
Add in cherries or strawberries, if using.
4
Top with pineapple sherbet for extra pineapple flavor and color, if desired.
5
Add LED ice cubes and turn them on the green setting to make the punch glow green at night.
6
Note: If you can't find lime sherbet, substitute rainbow sherbet (use just the green portion), pineapple sherbet, or lemon sherbet and add green food coloring until you reach the desired green color. You can also use green apple soda, green apple Crystal Light, or green Powerade to achieve the green color.

Tips & Notes

Pro tips

Add sherbet and Sprite in two stages to ensure even mixing and maintain carbonation throughout serving.
Place LED ice cubes in the punch bowl before adding ingredients so they're distributed throughout rather than floating on top.
Keep extra sherbet in a separate container and add scoops to the punch bowl during serving to replace melted portions and maintain green color and thickness.
Layer garnishes like maraschino cherries and frozen strawberries for visual contrast against the green base.

Substitutions

Lime sherbet → rainbow sherbet (green only), pineapple sherbet, or lemon sherbet with green food coloring
Sprite → 7-Up or Ginger Ale
Hawaiian punch → any tropical or green-colored punch alternative
Pineapple juice → lime juice mixed with simple syrup (note: reduces sweetness, adjust to taste)

Storage & make-ahead

Assemble just before serving. Leftover punch stores in the refrigerator for up to 2 days but carbonation and sherbet texture diminish over time.

Equipment

large punch bowl · LED light-changing ice cubes (optional)

Common Questions

Can I make this punch ahead of time?

Assemble the punch just before serving to keep the sherbet from melting too quickly. Add the sherbet and carbonated beverages last for best texture and fizz.

What if I can't find lime sherbet?

Substitute rainbow sherbet (using only the green portion), pineapple sherbet, or lemon sherbet. Add green food coloring to reach desired green color, or use green apple soda, green apple Crystal Light, or green Powerade.

How much punch does this recipe make?

This recipe fills a standard large punch bowl and serves approximately 20-30 people, depending on serving size.

Can I scale this recipe for a smaller gathering?

Yes, halve all ingredients and use a smaller bowl. Start with 1 quart lime sherbet, 1 liter Sprite, 2 quarts Hawaiian punch, and 1 (23-ounce) can pineapple juice.
