In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1/2 cup of butter with the vegetable oil.
Add the diced red onion, white onion, jalapeño, and serrano pepper. Sauté for about 4 minutes until softened.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
Stir in the diced tomato.
Add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Add the chopped parsley, cilantro, and Old Bay seasoning. Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon.
Add the remaining 1/4 cup of butter and pour in the entire bottle of beer.
Stir everything together and bring the mixture to a boil.
Once boiling, add sriracha to taste, then turn off the heat.
Meanwhile, cook the instant ramen noodles according to package directions, then drain.
Place the cooked ramen in a bowl and top with the drunken shrimp and sauce.
Mix and serve immediately.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat with a splash of water or broth to restore the sauce consistency; do not microwave cooked shrimp as it becomes rubbery.
Yes. Thaw completely and pat dry before cooking to ensure proper browning and to prevent the pan from steaming.
A light lager or pale ale works well. Avoid dark stouts or heavily hopped IPAs, which can overpower the delicate shrimp.
Shrimp turns opaque and curls into a C-shape when done, typically 2–3 minutes per side depending on size. Overcooked shrimp becomes rubbery.
Remove the jalapeño and serrano pepper seeds before dicing, or use only one pepper and reduce the amount. You can also substitute mild peppers like poblano.
Only if you use gluten-free ramen noodles. Check the beer label and all other ingredients for gluten content.
