Scrub the cutting board with soapy water and a sponge.
Rinse the board and dry it thoroughly with a towel.
Allow the board to air dry completely.
Once the board is completely dry, apply a generous amount of food-safe cutting board oil to the surface.
Using a paper towel or clean cloth, rub the oil into the wood, moving with the grain to cover the entire surface.
Let the oil soak into the wood for 6 to 12 hours.
After soaking, use a clean cloth to buff off any excess oil.
