Rinse sushi rice under cold water until water runs clear
Cook rice according to package instructions
Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt to create sushi vinegar
While rice is warm, gently fold in the sushi vinegar mixture
Allow rice to cool to room temperature
Wet hands and form rice into small oval shapes (nigiri)
Top each rice portion with a small amount of Ikura
Optionally wrap with a thin strip of nori
Serve immediately with wasabi, soy sauce, and pickled ginger
