Arise My Love

Pro tips

• Chill the glass in the freezer for 5 minutes before assembling to keep the drink cold longer.
• Pour the crème de menthe first, then top slowly with champagne to control carbonation and prevent overflow.
• Use freshly opened champagne or sparkling wine for maximum fizz and flavor.

Substitutions

• Green crème de menthe → White crème de menthe (loses color but keeps mint flavor)
• Champagne → Prosecco or Cava (same technique, slightly drier result)

Can I make this ahead of time?

No — assemble just before serving. Add the crème de menthe to a chilled glass, top with champagne, and drink immediately to preserve carbonation and flavor.

What type of champagne works best?

Use a dry or extra-dry champagne or sparkling wine. Avoid overly sweet varieties, which will compete with the crème de menthe.

How much crème de menthe should I use?

Start with 1 teaspoon and adjust to taste. Add more for a stronger mint flavor, less for subtle herbaceous notes.

Can I substitute the green crème de menthe?

White crème de menthe works as a substitute but will lack color. Peppermint schnapps is drier and more potent — use half the amount.
