In a large, hot, dry pan, add the shredded cabbage.
Cook for 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage begins to get some color.
While the cabbage is cooking, cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Add a sprinkle of salt to the cabbage to help draw out excess moisture.
Continue browning the cabbage, then add several pats of butter and stir to melt.
Continue to cook the cabbage until it's tender and well-browned, adding more butter as needed.
Add the cooked and drained egg noodles to the pan with the cabbage.
Add more butter to the pan.
Stir everything together until the noodles are fully coated in the butter and mixed with the cabbage.
Serve warm, garnished with cracked black pepper and another pinch of salt, if desired.
