In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the French onion soup mix and minced onion until cooked through. Drain any excess grease.
Remove the skillet from the heat and let the beef mixture cool slightly. Stir in the mayonnaise and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Lay a large sheet of aluminum foil on your work surface and spray it with cooking spray.
Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the rolls connected. Place the bottom half of the buns on the prepared foil.
Spread the beef mixture evenly over the bottom buns.
Layer the dill pickle slices over the beef, followed by the slices of American cheese.
Place the top half of the slider buns over the cheese and press down gently.
Wrap the entire block of sliders tightly in the aluminum foil.
Place the foil-wrapped sliders directly on the oven rack and bake for 30 minutes.
Carefully remove the sliders from the oven and let them rest for about 10 minutes before unwrapping.
Unwrap the sliders, sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired, then slice into individual portions and serve immediately.
