In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat, add butter and oil.
Add the chopped onion, green and red bell peppers, and chopped garlic.
Sauté for about 10 minutes on low-medium heat until the vegetables are softened.
Stir in the packet of fajita seasoning.
Pour in the chicken broth and the two cans of condensed tomato soup.
Season with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
Add the shredded chicken and stir to combine.
Squeeze in the juice of one lime.
Stir in the chopped cilantro.
Bring the soup to a simmer, then reduce heat, cover, and let it cook for at least one hour.
Serve hot, topped with sour cream, shredded cheese, more fresh cilantro, and crushed tortilla chips.
