Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish.
Pour the two cans of beef broth and two cans of French onion soup into the casserole dish and stir to combine.
Add the uncooked rice to the soup mixture and stir well.
Slice the two sticks of butter into thin pats and arrange them evenly over the top of the rice and soup mixture.
Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, carefully remove the dish from the oven, remove the foil, and stir everything together.
Return the dish to the oven uncovered and bake for an additional 30 minutes, until the liquid is absorbed and the top is crispy.
Remove from the oven, fluff with a spatula, and serve hot.

Yes. Assemble the dish in the baking dish, cover with foil, and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking. Add 5-10 minutes to the baking time if starting from cold.
Use homemade caramelized onions mixed with beef broth, or replace one soup can with additional beef broth and 1-2 tablespoons of soy sauce for umami depth.
The rice should be tender and have absorbed most of the liquid, typically 45-55 minutes in a 350°F oven. The top should be golden brown and crispy.
Long-grain white rice is best for texture and absorption. Short-grain rice may become mushy; brown rice requires additional liquid and longer cooking time.
