Shake with ice and strain into cocktail glass.
Decorate with a small slice of pineapple.
Prepare ingredients ahead and store in the refrigerator; cocktails should be made fresh to order and consumed immediately.
cocktail shaker · strainer · jigger · chilled coupe or cocktail glass
Fresh juice is preferred for flavor, but bottled lemon and orange juice work in a pinch—avoid cocktail mixes, which are too sweet and artificial.
Use a neutral, unaged white rum or light gold rum. Avoid dark or spiced rums, which will overpower the delicate fruit balance.
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass. Serve immediately over fresh ice if preferred, or up (without ice) in a coupe.
Cointreau or Curaçao work well. You can also use Grand Marnier, though it will add deeper orange notes.
The raspberry syrup and triple sec add sweetness, but fresh lemon juice balances it. Adjust syrup down if you prefer drier cocktails.
