Season the frozen hash brown patties on both sides with your preferred seasoning blend.
Place the seasoned hash brown patties in an air fryer and cook until golden and crispy.
While the hash browns are cooking, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl, combine the sour cream, ranch dressing, chopped chives, and a pinch of black pepper and seasoning blend. Mix until well combined.
Once the hash browns are crispy, remove them from the air fryer and top with half of the shredded cheese.
Return the hash browns to the air fryer for another minute or two, just until the cheese is melted.
Remove the cheesy hash browns and spread the sour cream and ranch sauce evenly over the top of each one.
Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the sauce.
Add your desired toppings, such as scrambled eggs, torn deli turkey, bacon bits, and sliced jalapeños.
Place the loaded hash browns back in the air fryer for a final 1-2 minutes to melt the top layer of cheese and warm the toppings.
Carefully remove from the air fryer, serve immediately, and enjoy.
Store cooled hash brown patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–4 minutes. Add fresh toppings after reheating for best texture.

Frozen patties are designed for even cooking and crispiness in the air fryer. Fresh shredded potatoes require extra moisture removal and longer cook times; if using them, squeeze out excess liquid and increase air-fry time by 5–10 minutes.
Air-fry the patties until golden and crispy before adding toppings. Add cheese and wet toppings in the last 2–3 minutes of cooking so they don't absorb excess moisture.
Most frozen hash brown patties air-fry at 380–400°F for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through. Check your patty package for specific guidance and adjust based on your air fryer model.
Air-fry the hash brown patties ahead and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–4 minutes before topping and serving.
Try sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, diced bell peppers, avocado, fried eggs, or different cheese varieties like pepper jack or gruyère.
