Universal Deep Frying Batter

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the fry batter mix and club soda. Whisk until a smooth batter forms.

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat about 2-3 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

For Fried Shrimp: Dip shrimp in the batter, allowing any excess to drip off. Carefully place in the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through. Serve with Thousand Island dressing.

For Mozzarella Sticks: Dip mozzarella sticks in the batter and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy.

For Onion Rings: Dip onion rings into the batter, then press into panko breadcrumbs to coat completely. Fry for 3-4 minutes until deep golden brown. Serve with BBQ sauce.

For Fried Pickles & Zucchini: Dip pickle spears and zucchini slices in the batter. Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden. Serve pickles with sriracha mayo and zucchini with Thousand Island dressing.

For Mini Corn Dogs: In a small bowl, mix a few spoonfuls of the batter with the yellow cornmeal. Coat the mini hot dogs in this mixture and fry for 4-5 minutes until golden. Serve with mustard.

For Apple Fritters: In another small bowl, mix a few spoonfuls of batter with the rolled oats and cinnamon. Coat the apple slices thoroughly and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.

Remove apple fritters from oil and dust with powdered sugar. Serve with caramel sauce for dipping.

For Fried Desserts: Dip the mini donuts and Twinkie in the remaining plain batter and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden and crisp.
