In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
While the beef is cooking, place the hard taco shells on a baking sheet and warm them in the oven according to package directions.
Stir the taco seasoning packet into the cooked ground beef.
Add 1/3 cup of water to the skillet, stir to combine.
Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
While the meat simmers, prepare the toppings by dicing the tomato and shredding the lettuce.
Assemble the tacos by filling each warmed shell with a spoonful of the seasoned ground beef.
Top the beef with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and shredded cheese.
Add a dollop of sour cream and a drizzle of taco sauce to each taco.
For extra spice, add Tabasco sauce and pickled jalapeños to your liking. Serve immediately.
