Capri Cocktail (White Creme De Cacao Banana Cream)

Pro tips

• Use fresh, cold cream for the smoothest mouthfeel; room-temperature cream can separate when shaken with ice.
• Pour equal measures carefully—the 3/4 oz ratio is key to balancing banana sweetness with cocoa depth.
• Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds to fully chill and incorporate the cream without curdling.
• Strain directly into a chilled glass to prevent dilution from melting ice.

Substitutions

• Light cream → Heavy cream (richer, more indulgent) or half-and-half (lighter body)
• White creme de cacao → Dark creme de cacao (deeper chocolate flavor, less vanilla notes)
• Crème de banana → Banana schnapps (drier, less creamy sweetness)

Storage & make-ahead

Not typically made ahead; best consumed immediately after mixing. Refrigerate leftover liqueurs separately; do not store the mixed cocktail.

Can I make this drink without cream?

Yes, substitute light cream with whole milk for a thinner consistency, or use coconut milk for a dairy-free option. The texture will be less rich.

Should this cocktail be shaken or stirred?

Shake with ice to chill and dilute properly, then strain. Shaking also creates a smoother texture with the cream.

What's the best way to serve this drink?

Serve in a coupe or cocktail glass over crushed ice or up in a chilled glass. Garnish with a banana slice or cocoa powder if desired.

Can I batch this cocktail ahead?

Mix the liqueurs and cream in advance and refrigerate up to 8 hours. Shake with ice and serve immediately before serving.
