Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan.
Add the instant ramen noodles and the seasoning packet to the boiling water. Stir to combine.
While the ramen cooks, finely chop the beef jerky.
Add the chopped beef jerky to the cooking ramen.
Once the noodles are nearly cooked, place the slice of American cheese on top.
Cover the pot with a lid and let the cheese melt for about 30 seconds to a minute.
Uncover and stir everything together until the cheese is fully incorporated and the broth is creamy.
