On the bottom half of the sliced bread, layer the sliced chicken breast.
Top the chicken with slices of white cheddar cheese.
Spoon the caramelized onions evenly over the cheese.
Spread the fig jam over the cut side of the top half of the bread.
Place the top half of the bread onto the sandwich to close it.
Wrap the entire sandwich tightly in aluminum foil.
