Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 13x9 inch baking dish with butter.
Pour half of the dry yellow cake mix into the bottom of the prepared dish.
Pour one can of undrained sliced peaches over the cake mix. Stir gently to mostly combine.
Pour the second can of undrained peaches evenly over the top. Do not stir.
Sprinkle the remaining dry cake mix evenly over the peaches. Do not stir.
Slice the stick of butter into thin pats and arrange them evenly over the top of the cake mix.
Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving.
Serve warm, optionally topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
