For the microwave method, rinse a small flour tortilla and a 16-ounce glass under warm running water.
Place the damp tortilla inside the glass, molding it to the side to create a shell shape.
Microwave on high for approximately 60 seconds.
Carefully remove the hot glass from the microwave. Use a fork to gently pry the finished taco shell out of the glass.
For the toaster method, cut a small flour tortilla in half.
Place one half of the tortilla into a toaster slot and toast until firm and lightly browned.
Carefully remove the toasted shell, pinch the bottom to create a pocket, and fill with cooked ground beef and shredded cheese.
For the avocado pit hack, place an avocado on a cutting board.
Screw a corkscrew into the center of the avocado pit.
Pull up on the corkscrew handles to easily extract the pit.
Crispy shells are best eaten immediately; store cooled shells in an airtight container for 1–2 days and recrisp in the toaster before serving.

Flour tortillas work best because they're more pliable when warm. Corn tortillas may crack or break more easily, though you can try if you prefer.
Toasting time varies by toaster, but typically 1–2 minutes on medium to high heat. Watch closely to avoid burning.
It works best with ripe avocados. Underripe avocados have pits that stick more firmly, making removal harder.
Crispy shells are best served immediately. Store cooled shells in an airtight container for 1–2 days and recrisp briefly in the toaster before filling.
Shredded chicken, seasoned black beans, or turkey work well as protein alternatives.
