Heat olive oil in a small non-stick pan over medium heat.
Add crumbled feta cheese to the pan and spread it into an even layer.
Crack an egg directly on top of the feta cheese.
Season the egg with freshly ground black pepper and a pinch of salt.
Cover the pan with a lid and let the egg steam until cooked to your desired doneness.
While the egg cooks, melt butter in a separate pan.
Toast the hamburger bun, cut-side down, in the melted butter until golden and crisp.
To assemble the sandwich, spread mayonnaise on both halves of the toasted bun.
Place a thick slice of tomato on the bottom bun and season it with a little more salt and pepper.
Carefully place the cooked feta and egg patty on top of the tomato.
Top with fresh basil leaves.
Place the top bun on the sandwich, slice in half, and serve immediately.
