Screwdriver Cocktail (Vodka And Orange Juice)

Pro tips

• Use fresh ice cubes; they melt slower than crushed ice and prevent over-dilution.
• Chill the glass before pouring for a colder drink that stays cold longer.
• Pour vodka first, then top with orange juice to control sweetness level.
• Stir gently after combining ingredients to distribute flavors evenly.

Substitutions

• Old Mr. Boston Vodka → any standard vodka or premium vodka (brand swap only)
• Orange juice → grapefruit juice (tarter flavor), cranberry juice (sweeter, more tart)

Storage & make-ahead

Cocktails are best served immediately after mixing. Store unmixed ingredients separately in the refrigerator.

What is the ratio of vodka to orange juice?

The standard ratio is 1 part vodka (2 oz) to 3-4 parts orange juice, adjusted to taste preference.

Should I use fresh or bottled orange juice?

Fresh-squeezed orange juice yields better flavor, but quality bottled orange juice works well and is more convenient.

Can I make this drink in advance?

Mix individual drinks just before serving to prevent dilution as ice melts. Pre-batch the components separately and combine when ready to drink.

What type of vodka works best?

Any standard vodka works; choose based on preference and budget. Premium vodka may provide smoother flavor but is not necessary.
