In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion soup mix, milk, and peanut butter. Mix with your hands until just combined.
Spread the meat mixture evenly onto a baking sheet.
Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes.
While the meat bakes, finely chop the onion.
Remove the meat from the oven and add the diced onion around the edges of the meat.
Return to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes.
Remove from the oven and use a spoon to spread the cooked onions evenly over the top of the meat.
Top the meat and onions with slices of American cheese, covering the entire surface.
Bake again until the cheese is fully melted.
Place the top halves of the slider buns over the melted cheese and bake for 5 more minutes to steam the buns.
Remove from the oven. Cut the meat into 16 individual slider portions.
Place the bottom halves of the slider buns on a serving board. Use a spatula to transfer each cheesy meat square onto a bottom bun to assemble the sliders.
