Using a loose leaf teapot with infuser add the loose leaf tea, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise to the infuser basket and set inside the teapot.
Pour cold or room temperature filtered water into the infuser, over the loose tea and spices until the teapot is full.
Allow tea to steep in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours or overnight. After tasting the tea you may remove the basket if the flavor is to your liking or you can allow it to remain in the pot and deepen in flavor.
To make your milk tea, simply pour the desired amount of tea into a glass or mug (tea may be heated if desired), add your milk of choice and then sprinkle with ground cinnamon to finish. Drink and enjoy!
Store brewed tea in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days; flavor deepens over time. Reheat individual servings before adding milk if desired.
