Stir with ice and strain into chilled cocktail glass.
Add lemon twist.
Use a mid-range or quality bourbon (80–100 proof). Avoid high-proof bourbons that will overpower the delicate amaro and crème de cassis. Wheated bourbons work well for a softer finish.
Yes. Substitute with chambord or another dark fruit liqueur for similar sweetness and color, though the flavor profile will shift slightly toward berry rather than blackcurrant.
Stir this cocktail over ice for 10–15 seconds. Stirring preserves the smooth texture and prevents over-dilution while properly chilling and combining the ingredients.
Use a vegetable peeler or knife to cut a 1–2 inch strip of lemon peel (yellow zest only, minimal white pith). Twist it over the drink to release oils, then drop it in or rest it on the rim.
Serve in a coupe glass or Nick & Nora glass over a single large ice cube or chilled without ice for a spirit-forward presentation.
