Aqueduct Cocktail (Vodka Apricot Brandy With Lime)

Pro tips

• Use fresh lime juice, never bottled, for bright acidity and proper balance against the sweet apricot and Curacao.
• Chill your glass beforehand or fill it with ice before mixing to keep the cocktail properly cold after shaking.
• Shake hard for 10-15 seconds with plenty of ice to properly dilute and chill the spirit blend without over-diluting.
• Pour immediately after shaking to prevent over-dilution; the ice melts quickly once mixed.

Substitutions

• Old Mr. Boston Apricot Brandy → Bols Apricot Brandy or Marie Brizard (slight flavor variation but same effect)
• Curacao → triple sec or omit (Curacao adds subtle orange depth; triple sec is drier)
• Old Mr. Boston Vodka → any neutral vodka (brand won't significantly impact flavor)

Equipment

cocktail shaker · jigger or measuring spoon · strainer

Can I make this cocktail without Curacao?

Yes. Substitute with triple sec or omit entirely for a simpler drink, though Curacao adds complexity and subtle orange notes.

Should this cocktail be shaken or stirred?

Shake vigorously with ice to chill and combine the ingredients evenly, then strain into a glass.

What type of glass should I use?

A coupe, martini, or rocks glass works well; serve over ice or up depending on your preference.

Can I substitute fresh lemon juice for lime?

Lemon will work but will change the flavor profile; lime's acidity and citrus character are integral to the drink's balance.

How can I scale this recipe for a crowd?

Multiply each ingredient by the number of servings needed and combine in a pitcher, then shake in batches or stir with ice.
