In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, sauté the diced yellow onion and celery until softened.
Add the ground beef to the pot. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until it's fully browned.
Season the beef and vegetables with garlic powder, onion powder, buttery garlic & herb seasoning, ground thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
Stir in the tomato paste and cook for about one minute until fragrant.
Pour in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, and water. Stir everything together.
Add the diced potatoes, sliced carrots, frozen corn, and frozen green beans to the pot.
Add another layer of seasoning with more garlic powder, onion powder, buttery garlic & herb seasoning, ground thyme, salt, and pepper to taste.
Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 1 hour.
Halfway through the simmering time (after 30 minutes), add the diced cabbage to the soup and stir it in. Continue to simmer for the remaining 30 minutes.
After an hour, the soup is ready. Serve hot, optionally with a grilled cheese sandwich for dipping.
