In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with the French onion soup mix and minced onion until cooked through. Drain any excess grease.
Remove the skillet from the heat and let the beef mixture cool slightly. Stir in the mayonnaise and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Lay out a large sheet of aluminum foil and spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
Without separating the individual buns, slice the sheet of slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom half on the prepared foil.
Spread the beef mixture evenly over the bottom buns.
Layer the dill pickle slices over the meat, followed by the slices of American cheese.
Place the top half of the slider buns over the cheese.
Tightly wrap the entire block of sliders in the aluminum foil.
Bake directly on the oven rack for 30 minutes.
Carefully remove from the oven, unwrap, and let the sliders cool for about 10 minutes.
Sprinkle the tops with sesame seeds, if desired. Slice into individual sliders and serve immediately.
Store cooled sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat wrapped in foil at 325°F for 10–15 minutes until warmed through.
