Deconstructed Chicken Cordon Bleu Bake

Place thinly sliced chicken breasts in a single layer in a baking dish. Trim any undesirable parts if needed.

Drizzle the chicken with olive oil and sprinkle with the all-purpose seasoning blend. Use your hands to toss and coat the chicken evenly.

Layer the slices of ham on top of the seasoned chicken.

Layer the Swiss cheese slices over the ham. Set the baking dish aside.

To make the sauce, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Stir in the Dijon mustard, all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper to create a paste.

Slowly whisk in the heavy cream until the sauce is smooth. Bring to a simmer and allow it to thicken slightly.

Pour the cream sauce evenly over the layered chicken, ham, and cheese in the baking dish.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.

Bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and return the dish to the oven. Bake for another 10 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Let the bake rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve over mashed potatoes and top with crispy fried onions, if desired.
