In a large pot or braiser over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Sauté the diced bell pepper and onion until softened.
Add the ground Italian sausage and ground beef to the pot. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spatula, until browned.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Drain off any excess grease from the pot.
Season the meat with Italian seasoning, beef bouillon powder, onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
Pour in the crushed tomatoes and mix everything together well.
Cover the pot and let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes.
Uncover and pour in the chicken broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
Add the spaghetti noodles to the pot, breaking them if necessary to fit. Press them down to submerge them in the liquid.
Cook, stirring every 5 minutes to prevent sticking, until the spaghetti is al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Cool completely and store in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop over medium heat, adding a splash of water or broth to loosen the sauce.
Yes, use 2 lbs ground beef total. The sausage adds distinct seasoning, so increase Italian seasoning slightly if omitting it.
Stir occasionally and taste at 8–10 minutes. The pasta should be tender but not mushy; cooking time depends on pasta thickness and sauce consistency.
