bar jigger · bar spoon · cocktail shaker (optional) · vegetable peeler or channel knife (for twist garnish)
Mix individual drinks fresh to order for best flavor and carbonation (if served with soda). Pre-batched versions keep up to 1 day refrigerated in a sealed container.
Any mid-range vodka works fine. The recipe specifies Old Mr. Boston, but any neutral or premium vodka at similar proof delivers the same result.
Fresh lime juice is strongly recommended for brightness and flavor. Bottled juice lacks the complexity and can taste flat.
Cut a thin strip of lime peel with a vegetable peeler, twist it gently over the drink to release oils, then drop it in or rest it on the rim.
A rocks glass (Old Fashioned glass) or coupe glass works best. Serve over ice or up, depending on preference.
