Homemade Caesar Salad With Creamy Dressing

Trim the ends off the romaine hearts, then chop into thin, bite-sized pieces.

Thoroughly wash the chopped lettuce in a salad spinner. The creator recommends washing and spinning twice.

Spread the washed and spun lettuce on paper towels to dry completely while you prepare the dressing.

In a large measuring cup or bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard.

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the dressing mixture.

Freshly grate the Parmesan cheese directly into the dressing.

Season generously with freshly cracked black pepper and stir everything together until well combined.

In a large salad bowl, add the completely dry romaine lettuce. Pour the dressing over the top and toss until the lettuce is evenly coated.

Place the croutons in a zip-top bag and crush them into smaller pieces using a meat tenderizer or another heavy object.

Sprinkle the crushed croutons over the salad.

Garnish with additional freshly grated Parmesan cheese and another crack of black pepper before serving.
