Air fry the tater tots according to package directions until golden and crispy.
While the tots are cooking, add the ground beef to a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook until browned. Drain any excess grease.
Stir in the chili seasoning packet, can of chili beans, and can of diced tomatoes with green chiles. Reduce heat and let it simmer.
Lay a large flour tortilla on a flat surface. In the center, layer sour cream, shredded cheese, a scoop of crispy tater tots, the chili mixture, and a drizzle of nacho cheese sauce.
Fold the sides of the tortilla in, then roll it up tightly to form a burrito.
Place the burrito seam-side down in a hot, dry skillet. Toast for 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown and sealed.
Repeat with the remaining ingredients. Slice in half and serve immediately.
Store cooled burritos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in a skillet over medium heat or in a 350°F oven for 10–12 minutes until warmed through.
Yes. Assemble the burritos, wrap individually in foil, refrigerate up to 24 hours, then toast in a skillet or oven before serving.
Frozen shredded-style tater tots are ideal; cook them according to package directions until golden and crispy before wrapping to prevent soggy burritos.
Yes. Monterey Jack, pepper jack, or Mexican blend cheese can replace cheddar. Nacho cheese sauce is harder to substitute but a cheese dip works.
Use large flour tortillas (10+ inches) and warm them slightly before filling to increase pliability.
Substitute the ground beef with crumbled firm tofu or a plant-based ground beef alternative, or double the beans and add sautéed peppers and onions for bulk.
