Pour the apple pie filling into a large cast iron skillet, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle the dry cake mix from the box evenly over the top of the pie filling.
Sprinkle the included Cinnadust/streusel topping over the cake mix.
Arrange the sliced butter pats evenly over the top of the dry mix.
Place the skillet on a smoker or in an oven preheated to 350°F.
Bake for about 1 hour, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
Remove from the heat and let cool slightly. Serve warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
