Using an apple corer, carefully remove the center of the dill pickle.
Insert a wooden skewer into one end of the hot dog.
Slide the skewered hot dog into the hollowed-out pickle.
Pat the stuffed pickle dry with a paper towel.
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, sugar, and baking powder.
In a separate, smaller bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until a smooth batter forms.
