Vodka Lime Twister Cocktail

Pro tips

• Use a citrus press or hand juicer to extract maximum juice from fresh limes; avoid squeezing by hand, which wastes juice and creates pulp.
• Chill your glass before pouring to keep the drink colder longer without over-dilution.
• Fresh lime juice oxidizes quickly; juice limes just before mixing for the sharpest flavor.
• The 2:1 ratio of vodka to lime is critical to balance—taste before serving and adjust for your preference, but don't exceed equal parts or the drink becomes sour.

Substitutions

• Old Mr. Boston Vodka → any neutral vodka (Svedka, Smirnoff, Tito's) with no impact on flavor
• Fresh lime juice → fresh lemon juice (milder acidity, less tropical character)

Equipment

bar shaker or mixing glass · citrus press or juicer · cocktail strainer · jigger for measuring

What type of vodka works best for this cocktail?

Old Mr. Boston Vodka is the traditional choice, but any neutral, mid-range vodka will work. Premium brands aren't necessary for this simple drink.

Should I use fresh lime juice or bottled?

Fresh lime juice is strongly recommended. Bottled lime juice lacks the brightness and natural acidity that balances the vodka.

How do I juice a lime efficiently?

Roll the lime firmly on the counter before cutting to soften it, then use a hand juicer or citrus press for maximum yield.

Can I make this drink ahead of time?

No. Mix immediately before serving. Pre-mixed cocktails oxidize and lose their citrus brightness quickly.

What's the best way to chill this cocktail?

Shake vigorously with ice for 10–15 seconds, then strain into a chilled glass, or stir with ice if you prefer a less diluted drink.
