Preheat your oven or smoker to 350°F (175°C).
Pour the apple pie filling into a large cast iron skillet or baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle the dry coffee cake mix evenly over the top of the apple pie filling.
Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar topping packet from the cake mix box over the dry mix.
