Pour carefully, in order given, into Pousse Cafe glass, so that each ingredient floats on preceding one.

Pour grenadine into a shot glass first (it's denser), then slowly pour crème de menthe over the back of a bar spoon so it floats on top without mixing.
A standard 1.5–2 oz shot glass is ideal for keeping the layers distinct and making the drink easy to shoot.
