In a small saucepan, combine the black beans and pinto beans.
Season the beans with ground cumin and salt.
Add water and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, until heated through.
In a separate hot pan, sauté the plant-based steak bites until browned and cooked through.
On a large baking pan, spread an even layer of tortilla chips.
Top the chips with the seasoned beans, followed by the cooked steak bites.
Sprinkle a generous layer of shredded cheese over everything.
Place the pan in the oven under the broiler until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
